Keeping your teeth healthy in summer is easier then other periods of the year and yet harder at the same time. It is easier, because there are many foods and ingredients, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, that prompt the salivary glands to work more intensely, keeping your mouth more thoroughly flushed and it is also more difficult because we all tend to get out more in summer and many of us neglect tooth cleaning when we get home late and we are tired.
Fortunately, there are many efficient ways to make sure your teeth stay strong and healthy in summer, too:
- Consume fruits, veggies and dairy products regularly to fortify your teeth from inside and outside;
- Keep chewing gum in your bag and reach out for it after every meal or sugary beverage that you consume;
- Maintain regular check-ups with the dentist
- Keep a small tooth cleaning kit with you as well – a disposable toothbrush and a travel-sized tube of fluoride toothpaste carried in your bag makes it easier for you to stick to your dental cleaning regimen even if you are out late and will also make you more comfortable, giving you the peace of mind that your breath is fresh all the time.
